EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP

Michigan Program Director Chris Byrant Leading our Youth

Dear Dreamers and Dream Makers,

We are doing extraordinary change in Detroit in extraordinary circumstances and that has created extraordinary leadership within Michigan Football, the Marines, Detroit Area Public Teachers, and the University of Michigan Staff. Hail to those Victors!

We have the most attended Youth Impact Program in our 18-year history of 42 programs in 16 cities across the country. We are dreaming big and being big in the Big House with close to 150 at-risk youth from Detroit. It is no question the most challenging, for our leadership as the children have been under COVID 19 preemptive conditions for two years not grouping in large groups, not socializing in large groups, and not having the interpersonal skills of respect and engagement taught or practiced. Our program is setting standards of excellence in conditions for these youth to excel when they return to their schools and families. We have instilled discipline self-discipline, respect for themselves, and respect for others. Guiding them to gain their self-confidence and their group confidence to have Courage to make the right decisions at the right time for the right reasons under extreme pressure.

We have many that still haven’t read a book, many that don’t know their multiplication, many who just don’t know what they don’t know. Innocent to be shaped by the great Institution of the University of Michigan with its Students and Staff. Creating trust in this great institution enables courage to stand up and have the resilience to overcome their obstacles within their community. We have the entire mix of great kids and ones that are yet not great but will be. Yes, we have special education, we have youth on parole, we have youth that excel at academics and athletics, and we have youth that love to be on this campus with these extraordinary leaders that they adore, follow and respect gaining their paths forward for a productive life.

We are all under one Big House with one Big Team Dreaming Big to Be Big and Live the Dream to Give the Dream.

We are the Team
