Sharon Shiroma Brown is President of the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation and Senior Vice President of the Community Relations Division at First Hawaiian Bank. She joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1981 as a cross-selling administrator. In 1990, she was appointed vice president and manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s Sales, Service and Training Division, making her the first woman in the bank’s 158-year history to head up a division. She took on added responsibilities in 2003 when she was named President of the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation. Last year, under Sharon’s leadership, the Foundation contributed $4 million to 400 charities in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.
Sharon is a graduate of Roosevelt High School, the University of Hawaii and the School of Bank Marketing in Colorado. She is very active in the community, serving on the boards of the Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation, Read to Me International, the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, Lawakua Foundation, and Teach for America. She formerly served on the boards of Hawaiian Humane Society, Girl Scouts of America, Hale Kipa, and Hawaii Theatre Center. She has chaired many fundraising events raising millions of dollars for non-profit organizations.
