Wesley Ellison is the Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Giving Programs at the University of Texas where she is responsible for leading the development strategy for key initiatives within Texas Athletics. Previously, she served as a Director of Development for the Western States Region at the University of Michigan Athletics Department. In her role, she was responsible for generating $5M annually to support a $355M campaign, which funded 16 capital projects, scholarships, and developed the Student-Athlete Enrichment program. She also served as the Program Director for the inaugural Youth Impact Program at the University of Michigan in 2015.
Prior to serving as the Director of Development, Wesley was an Associate Director of Development for Michigan Athletics (2012-2014), Assistant Director for Marketing & Recruiting at the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce (2010-12), and Academic Advisor for Virginia Athletics (2009-10).
Wesley is a former student-athlete and her family has a rich tradition in intercollegiate athletics, which has fueled her strong appreciation and passion for athletics. She is a native of the Bay Area and graduated summa cum laude in 2008 from the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.
While at Michigan, Wesley competed for the Women’s Water Polo team earning All-Academic Big Ten honors (2005-07). She then went on to complete her master’s degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership at the University of Washington in 2009. Wesley is also a certified yoga instructor and has utilized this expertise to supplement the strength and conditioning training at the University of Michigan by implementing yoga classes for student-athletes across all teams.
